My experience and my nanny bag essentials

My family calls me the kid whisperer. I have always had a way with kids that just works. I have been baby sitting for about 11 years now! Crazy! I started when I was about 10 for neighboring families and now I am a full time nanny as I go to school. I may be bold enough to say I have never spent a week without playing with kids.
Whether I am in a store playing peek-a-boo with a kid I don't know, or going on a bear hunt with kids I have known their whole lives, I love it!
I have found myself googling, and pinteresting ideas on how to entertain kids! I have found some great things that work, and some other ideas that just don't.
So the point of this blog is to share ideas!  It's about mastering the nanny life and giving those kids some creative and active fun! That's what the parents want and to be honest the time flys by and it was more fun for you too!
I'll just share a small secret into my nanny success : my nanny bag.
This bag will make you seem like Mary poppins. Here are the staples for my bag
1. Puzzles: these are just the greatest entertainment that is easy to carry around, and doing a puzzle two or three times can take up to 20 minutes. I got mine from Walmart a pack of 6 I believe and it was around $5.
2. Crayons: I am a huge fan of crayons instead of markers simply because of the mess that the kids make. More possibilities of it staining the kid or other things in their house. I got mine at Walmart for about 3$.
3. Paper/coloring book: I have both just for variety but either can give you a solid activity. Colored Paper Walmart for $3 and the coloring book 1$ dollar store
4. Books: I currently has two books one is a puppet book that all the kids love (little butterfly $7) and the other is 5 monkeys make a cake ($5 Amazon). Kids love books and something fun and silly, with not a ton of words especially for little kids. Think pictures and lots of color.
5. Nail polish/ car: I nanny a little girl right now so the nail polish (2$ ulta) is perfect she lives getting her nails done. But for those of you with boys I would keep a small toy ready for any moment.(1$ dollar store)
Okay so with these 5 item I believe you can kill the nanny game, here are some things I have in my bag right now that have been awesome!
1. Baking soda and vinegar: I can not tell you how my experiments are out there for this! The kids always love the reaction! I will be posting a post on "melting ghosts" that does just that. ($2 dollar store)
2. Marshmallows and tooth picks: we have made towers and bridges for her animals with these big hit!
3. Corn starch: I believe we made chalk with this I'll make sure to post that too!

I hope you find this blog will help you find ideas and dominate that nanny life. Any questions feel free to ask!
